The Cisco VPN 3030 Concentrator is a virtual private network
(VPN) platform designed for medium-sized to large organizations that
require from full T1/E1 through T3/E3 (50 Mbps maximum performance).
The VPN 3030 offers support for up to 1500 simultaneous IP security
(IPSec) sessions or 500 simultaneous clientless sessions.
Specialized Scalable Encryption Processing (SEP) modules perform
hardware-based acceleration. The Cisco VPN 3030 can be upgraded to
the Cisco VPN 3060 in the field. Both redundant and nonredundant
configurations are available.
The Cisco VPN 3030 offers:
- One SEP module for hardware-based encryption
- Single power supply
- Expansion capabilities:
- Up to three additional SEP modules for maximum system
throughput and redundancy
- Optional redundant power supply
- Three 10/100BASE-T Ethernet interfaces (autosensing)
As with the other models in the Cisco VPN 3000 Series, the VPN
3030 Concentrator also provides the following features:
- Motorola PowerPC CPU
- Synchronous dynamic RAM (SDRAM) for normal operation
- Nonvolatile memory for critical system parameters
- Flash memory for file management
