The Cisco VPN 3020 Concentrator is a virtual private network (VPN) platform designed for medium-sized to large organizations that require bandwidth from full T1/E1 through T3/E3 (50 Mbps maximum performance). The VPN 3020 offers support for up to 750 simultaneous IP security (IPSec) sessions or 200 simultaneous clientless sessions. Specialized Scalable Encryption Processing (SEP) modules perform hardware-based acceleration. The Cisco VPN 3020 cannot be upgraded to other products in the Cisco VPN 3000 Series. Both redundant and nonredundant configurations are available.

The Cisco VPN 3020 offers:

• One SEP module for hardware-based encryption
• Single power supply
• Three 10/100BASE-T Ethernet interfaces (autosensing)
• Redundant system available that includes additional power supply and encryption card

As with the other models in the Cisco VPN 3000 Series, the VPN 3020 Concentrator also provides the following features:

• Motorola PowerPC CPU
• Synchronous dynamic RAM (SDRAM) for normal operation
• Nonvolatile memory for critical system parameters
• Flash memory for file management
